Loyalty Points
Those of you that have been longstanding Azurlis™ customers would have by now been used to the fact that we include some bonus items with your orders. These sometimes are in the form of an extra product, or an item that helps to implement a skincare routine, or sometimes a discount coupon.
Also, those of you who recommend a friend get an email from me asking what free product you might like, as I always like to say thank you for spreading the word on the benefits of using Azurlis™.
We don’t publicize these actions in case we raise expectations that may lead to disappointment, which would be terrible.
However, over the last few months, we have been reviewing ways to formalize these “small rewards” into a Loyalty Program that will enable the accumulation of points to be redeemed in future purchases.
These Loyalty Programs typically rely extensively on email marketing, with the potential for saturating your inbox. We will not do this, as I hate it when people do it to me. Nevertheless, when you sign up for the Azurlis™ Loyalty Program you will receive a few emails subsequent to your purchase showing how your points are accumulating.
We have no intention to bother you with reminders, although you will need to bear in mind that the points will have to have an expiry date, as do most of these programs . Currently, our thought are that points will expire after 5 – 6 months, but this is still work in progress.
So, if you want to make a comment on what may or may not work for you, please email us at info@azurlis.co.nz
Azurlis™ Bakuchiol Wonder Serum
As some of you are aware we have been working on a truly unique Bakuchiol Serum formulated to stimulate gentle cell renewal without any destructive approaches to help plump fine lines and decrease pigmentation, as well as hydrating and delivering ingredients that will contribute to brightening complexion and achieving a radiant glow, for all ages.
To achieve these, the formulation includes argan oil, bakuchiol, hyaluronate, camellia oil, N-acetylglucosamine and niacinamide.
Notes on Hyaluronate or Hyaluronic Acid (HA)
- This is naturally present in human tissues such as skin, ligaments, tendons, and nerves. It acts as a connective tissue 'organiser' and helps to hold water.
- Hyaluronic Acid, often abbreviated as HA, is found in both layers of the skin where it has a protective, structure stabilising and shock-absorbing function.
- About a third of the total amount of HA in the entire human body is found in the skin. As we age, the content of HA in the skin decreases, which may contribute to loss of freshness, hydration, moisture and elasticity in the skin and the development of wrinkles.
- These signs of ageing can be reduced with the regular use of serum and moisturiser products containing HA.
- In most instances, this may be resolved by adding commercially produced HA to cosmetic products.
- At Azurlis™, we use yeast-derived HA to avoid using an animal derived ingredient.
- HA’s ability to attract water to itself, provides unique moisturising benefits to the skin, while having a “plumping” effect on fine lines. Its viscoelastic (both viscous and elastic), properties soften the skin, and smooth irregularities, both of which contribute to its significant anti-wrinkle effect.
- HA can be added to various cosmetic products such as creams, lotions, serums, shampoos, conditioners, bath oils, foundations, lipsticks or lip balms.
Notes on Camellia oil (Camellia sinensis)
- This oil has excellent skin conditioning, restructuring and moisturizing properties. A rich source of vitamin A, B and E (d-alpha-tocopherol), these are all useful to reduce the development of the signs of ageing.
- This oil is also rich in oleic acid and is a good antioxidant agent. A rejuvenating and restructuring oil that gives the skin a special radiant glow, camellia oil has been known for promoting the healing of scars and elasticity. It has been used for skin and hair care by Japanese women for centuries.
Notes on Niacinamide
- Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3 or niacin, an essential nutrient that provides many health benefits to major organs, including your skin, kidneys, heart, nerves, gut, brain, as well as other body organs.
- Niacin is present in certain green vegetables, whole grains, lean meats, soy milk, eggs, yeast, salmon, and many other foods.
- When your body has too much niacin, your body converts this to niacinamide. Your body can also make niacinamide from an amino acid called tryptophan.
- Niacinamide is used in skin care products, for its ability to improve your skin’s health and condition.
- It is an active ingredient in creams and lotions including moisturisers, serum products, sunscreens, cleansers, and many other skin care products. It is known to have antimicrobial properties that are beneficial to manage acne.
- It has also been reported to be beneficial to reduce hyperpigmentation, skin sensitivity or inflammation, and slow down the process of skin ageing.
Notes on N-acetylglucosamine (NAG)
- This substance, also often abbreviated as "NAG", has been shown to have excellent moisturizing properties, increase hydration, reduce hyperpigmentation, as well as facilitate gentle exfoliation without the risk of irritation.
- We will be using a corn derived N-cetylglucosamine, hence not extracted from animal sources.
- N-acetylglucosamine is a major component of the skin, and it used in skincare due to its benefits, as well to the fact that it is generally compatible and easily tolerated by all skin types.
- N-acetylglucosamine is best known for its hydration properties - as it is able to stimulate Hyaluronic Acid synthesis within our cells, but there is also an increasing body of evidence showing its excellent properties to reduce hyperpigmentation, while increasing collagen production, and skin elasticity.
